Designed with an emphasis on sound quality over bells and whistles, the Sennheiser MK 4 Set is a large-diaphragm true condenser microphone bundled with a vibration-reducing shockmount. The mic offers warm and detailed audio capture that complements a range of sources from vocals and speech to acoustic instruments, drum overheads, guitar amps, and more. Since it incorporates an internally shock-mounted capsule and a rugged metal housing, the MK 4 is not only an obvious choice for the studio, but also a dependable companion on stage.

The MK 4 features a large 1" diaphragm plated in 24kt gold to enhance conductivity, resist corrosion, and yield a tone based on the e 965 vocal mic. The cardioid polar pattern strongly rejects sound behind the mic while picking up side-entry sound without coloration. The mic's low-noise circuitry further solidifies it as a studio mic capable of meeting the demands of digital recording systems. The included shockmount utilizes an open-front design to allow closer placement than traditional shockmount designs. Use an XLR mic cable (available separately) to connect the MK 4 to any mic preamp that can supply 48V phantom power.

It's ability to accurately reproduce such a wide range of sounds is thanks mostly in part to its 1" true condenser capsule, which is based on the acoustics of the e 965 high-end vocal mic. True Condenser Capsule
The MK 4 features a 24kt gold-sputtered diaphragm at the heart of its 1" true condenser capsule. Gold is an excellent conductor for electrical signals and also prevents corrosion over time. Factor in the cardioid polar pattern and you've got a single microphone that's ready to record anything you put in front it.
Cardioid Polar Pattern
The finest sound structures are well resolved, while sound coming from the sides is picked up without coloration, which means that it does not alter the overall sound quality. Furthermore, the microphone has a very harmonious presence, featuring vivid mids and is also highly detailed in the bass range. At the same time, typical cardioid cancellation is relatively frequency-independent, which is unusual for a large-diaphragm mic.
Sturdily Built
Despite its detailed and fine studio sound, the MK 4 mic is an incredibly rugged tool. The compact electronics, superior materials, and zinc die-cast casing ensure that the MK 4 is the perfect partner for rough recording environments.
Shockmount Included
The MKS 4 shockmount features elastic suspension with an open ring, preventing vibration while allowing the MK 4 to be positioned close to the sound source.
